Such grand plans. I had amazing plans for the summer, filled with internships and independent research, papers and book reviews and blogs. Such grand plans.
Instead I went to Ohio. Then I went to Rhode Island. When I got back I read every book I could find as long as it was fiction (preferably of the "science" type). I half heartedly pursued a couple of internships and almost started reading "The Origins of Complex Language," by Andrew Carstairs-McCarthy. Lately my days have been filled with Kung Fu, video games, and all the chocolate I can eat. I feel like a teenager on summer vacation. Except for the bills.
So I took a contract job. I'm helping my wife's company move into their new office. In my former life I did something similar, but on a much larger scale. I'm a bit rusty, but definitely qualified. When they offered to pay me I just couldn't resist.
Anyway, all this is just to explain why I probably won't be writing anything interesting for another couple of weeks. My Spanish class starts on August 18, so check back some time around then. Once the academic year is back in full swing and I really don't have time to do anything but homework, I'm sure I'll spend more time writing.
Have fun.
